Data Quality Report

Most data products publish their strengths. Reference bodies publish their defect statistics — openly and on a schedule — because a source you can audit is worth more than a source that claims perfection. This is SkyMind's first periodic quality report: every number below is computed from the live database at build time (as of 16 July 2026), nothing is rounded, and the uncomfortable rows stay in. Next edition: October 2026.

Every change, on the record

Since 13 July 2026 an append-only, trigger-enforced revision ledger records every insert, update and delete on any published value — loaders cannot bypass it. Recorded so far: 178 value changes (2026-07-13 … 2026-07-15).

178 of 178 recorded changes are currently marked unlabeled — the loader that made them did not declare a change reason. Under our ingestion protocol such entries are flagged and reviewed at the next audit; they are shown here rather than hidden because that is the point of this report.

Disputes & corrections

Anyone can dispute a published number; every dispute is reviewed and its resolution published. Status at build time: 0 disputes filed since the channel opened (16 July 2026) — 0 open, 0 resolved.

Defects we have published about ourselves

The corrections that shaped this database. None of these were silent fixes — each is documented, and the current pipeline exists largely because of them.

WhenWhat we foundWhat we did
2026-05Legacy scoring fallback injected a neutral 50.0 for units with missing data — 41 fake rows in Gulf score tables.Deleted with a fingerprint query; scorer rewritten to return no score instead of a fabricated one.
2026-05Our original methodology (GDE) failed independent null tests — shuffled geography produced nearly identical results. The methodology was retired entirely and replaced by the current transparent composite; the audit is described on /methodology.
2026-06German per-district data was synthetic (population off by 2–6×).Replaced wholesale with official Eurostat NUTS-3 series (401 Kreise, 12 official metrics), validated against official GDP ranking.
2026-06Belarus source flagged in license due diligence (unclear license, sanctions risk).Country removed from the product; data never republished.
2026-07Remaining fabricated UAE tiers (estimated population on 102 legacy districts, tourism series) and one mislabeled Israeli metric.Deleted / retired; UAE rebuilt on 231 official statistics-center communities.

Method: counters are exact row counts against the live warehouse at build time (2026-07-16 06:47 UTC); revision statistics read the same public ledger as GET /data/revisions; dispute counts read the same log as /corrections. This report is regenerated quarterly by products/build_quality_report.py — if a number here disagrees with the database, the database wins and the report gets rebuilt.
