FAQ
Common questions
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. 100 API calls a month, no credit card, instant self-serve key at
/developers. The interactive map at
/map is unlimited and free to explore.
What exactly am I paying for?
The data is from official open sources (Destatis, Israel CBS, World Bank, Dubai DLD, GASTAT, Qatar PSA) under their open licenses. What you pay for is the work: cleaning it, making it comparable across places and time, the transparent composite index, the English metric labels (we hand-translated all 837 Israeli ones from Hebrew), and the API/CSV delivery.
API subscription vs. one-time dataset — which do I want?
Buy a
dataset if you want the full CSV to work with offline. Subscribe to the
API if you want live, queryable, always-current access in your app or pipeline. Many people start with a dataset and add the API later.
Is this a forecast or a rating?
Neither. The composite index is a
descriptive within-country comparison — how places stand relative to each other on public data, reproducible from the source. It does not predict events and is not a financial rating. Full method at
/methodology.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — monthly billing, cancel anytime from your Stripe-managed subscription. Your key stays active to the end of the paid period.
I'm a journalist / academic. Any discount?
For editorial use we often provide the data and custom cuts free in exchange for a credit + link.

Composite index = three axes (economic / demographic / social-or-infrastructure),
each min-max normalized then weighted 40/30/30. Descriptive, not a forecast.
